On November 7-9, 2014 the Bike-Kite-Tech Conference will be held on Achill Island in Ireland. The theme of the conference is “Drones and Data”, and will explore the future of drone technology in transportation.
According to the conference website:
We wanted to create a different way for people to get to know each other that wasn’t in a traditional conference setting. We believe the mixture of sport and business is a good one and so this year,we are doing the same, and our friends from previous years will attend, along with many new ones. The Achill Kite and Bike events are a unique sporting and networking experience designed to help founders of companies get to know each other in a rural environment.
The conference will explore some timely and relevant questions facing the drone industry:
Amazon, Google, Facebook and many other companies are on a mission to use drones to perform tasks that have been done by humans using inefficient technology. Can drones be used to deliver goods, medicine, and be part of our everyday lives in the next ten to twenty years? What role can Ireland play in this new area? What can new technology like fast transatlantic fiber direct from the USA to Ireland, in addition to an abundance of green power do to make the West of Ireland the best place to set up a data centre? This year we’ll be bringing some of the leading CEOs and thinkers to Achill to talk about the future of drone technology and what that means for business, technology and privacy.
Featured companies at the conference are Skycatch and DJI. Tickets are from €200.00 to €1000.00.
