At its height on Friday, the St. Marys River reached 19.83 feet. As of Sunday, the water level had gone down more than two feet from that point.
“We’ll watch the rainfall, but it is significant that we’ve had about a two foot drop in the river level, which means that it can handle some more in certain parts. We already have some sandbags and levees in place and we’ll leave those there, obviously. We’ll continue to watch the rainfall this week and keep a close eye on everything,” spokesperson for Fort Wayne Public Works Frank Suarez said.
