Skyworks Aerial Systems recently announced that they have officially changed their name to Dronesmith Technologies. This change marks a significant milestone in the company’s natural evolution and signifies their continuing dedication to making the best developer tools for the drone industry.

When Skyworks Aerial Systems was founded in 2014, the team set out with the mission of enabling drone makers, innovators, and entrepreneurs by lowering the barrier to entry into robotics with proper tools.

Says CEO Jinger Zeng, We learned a lot in the past two years; from peers, from our advisors, and from our customers. We discovered that drone developers are the most important part of the industry that links underlying technology to solution providers. And yet, they are the most underserved craftsmen when it comes to the execution of their designs. Ultimately, we deduced that the craft of dronesmithing painted a clearer picture of our core message and who we strive to serve.”

Dronesmith Technologies will be launching two new projects in the near future:

Luci

Starting in March, they will be launching Luci, an advanced new flight controller designed for drone developers and entrepreneurs looking to build their own drone applications. Luci is a condensed version of their technology — It’s built on an architecture that easily enables drones to be integrated into next generation IoT (Internet of Things) applications. They believe this new flight controller can give many independent drone developers a “more delightful development experience”.
