For a second time, CURPAS e.V. opens its doors in the Wildau Aerospace Center near Berlin to invite interested parties to its annual conference on UAS and Digitalization.
Unmanned flight systems are now in use in countless areas of application. These systems can be used as adequate tools. They make significant contributions to the digitalization of a wide variety of processes. This will be recognizable in the accident photographs of the police, the recording of damage situations by the fire brigade, the determination of harvest maturity in the agricultural sector, the controls of technical installations and much more.
CURPAS will be dealing with this aspect at the next annual conference. and has invited a group of top-class experts to discuss this topic. For example, Mr. van Blyenburgh, initiator and founder of UVS International, presents an overview of the current situation on the international UAS market. Furthermore, Mr. Jochum from Deutsche Telekom AG, who leads a project on airspace connectivity from a regulatory perspective, will talk about connected drones in mobile networks.
CURPAS e.V. has also invited further international speakers to its annual conference to discuss the future European law of unmanned aviation from the perspective of the German legislator, Mr. Raimund Kamp of the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure. For example, the participants can look forward to the lecture by Mr. Val Komissarov of the Skolkovo Foundation, who will talk about the civilian use of UAS. Mr. Yang Jincai of the Shenzhen UAV Industry Association will talk about the situation and developments in the Chinese market via video feed. The situation from the point of view of the industry and the development of digitalization are analyzed by representatives of companies such as Yuneec and Ersa.
The first day of the conference will be rounded out by evening flight demonstrations related to digitalization. On 29 June, various deployment scenarios will be examined and discussed in detail in working groups. The aim is to develop recommendations for further linking the topics of digitalization and UAS.
Furthermore, 10 exhibitors form an interesting cross-section of the current UAS industry and present their companies and innovations during the two-day conference.
The welcome address by Mr. Albrecht Gerber, Minister of Economics and Energy of the State of Brandenburg and patron of the CURPAS Annual Conference, shows that the areas of digitalization and unmanned aerial vehicles are now also important economic policy topics. The capital region is one of three top German locations for aviation technology. A strong middle class, globally active large enterprises and a high scientific competence are an ideal basis for further projects and activities in these future topics. Brandenburg and Berlin thus have a broad range of competences in the field of aviation technology that is unique in Germany and, from the minister’s point of view, possibly even in this form throughout Europe. This development must be supported and expanded. For this reason, the annual conference of CURPAS e.V., which takes place from June 28-29, 2018, is an important contribution to the networking of different partners.
