Zing Launches Kickstarter for Drone Delivery

Drone Deliveries Are Quick, Convenient, and Eco-Friendly. Zing Is Making Them Accessible to Everyone

Tampa Bay, FL / February 20, 2019 – The Zing team envisions a future where the everyday drone pilot can make deliveries around their community with the same drones they have been using for photography. Whether it’s a cup of sugar to the neighbor down the road, a tool across the farm, a part from one factory building to another, or any number of use cases where it’s more convenient or effective to send a small item by drone.

To make drone deliveries happen, Zing has built a fully functional mobile app and delivery device for the world’s most trusted DJI drones, the Mavic and Phantom series. Zing’s app allows drones to fly on autopilot and the Zing Delivery box is aerodynamic and lightweight. They are raising funds on Kickstarter to improve our iOS app’s features and functionality, develop an Android app, and improve Zing delivery box production through contract manufacturing. Zing is offering Mavic and Phantom delivery boxes at a discounted rate for those who pledge.

“Drone deliveries are coming more quickly than most people realize. The FAA has rolled out LAANC throughout the entire United States, automating the process to fly in controlled airspace. NASA is completing the 4-year UTM program before the end of 2019, testing drone flights beyond line of sight and over people in urban environments.” – Ian Annase (Founder, Zing)

“Current drones have both the physical and technological capabilities to make deliveries. We are building Zing for the everyday drone pilot to facilitate these point to point deliveries using the drones they already have. We hope to lay the groundwork for eventual commercial deliveries that could enable more than 90,000 certified drone pilots to earn money using their own drones.” – Jim Lockheed (Advisor, Zing)

Zing launched the first ever drone delivery app to hit the App Store in October of 2018. The app is compatible with all DJI drones and sends the drone to each location autonomously. Over 150 deliveries have been made using the app already.
