As it currently stands, you can’t legally fly a drone in Washington DC. In fact, if your drone has geofencing, you won’t even be able to take off.
Law
You can fly your drone above private property in most states and some local jurisdictions. You must ensure that your drone is not violating any local drone laws when flying.
Commercial and recreational drone pilots are prohibited from flying their drones over other people.
You should be able to fly a drone in special-use airspace, but it’s still not recommended. Special use airspace might be dangerous for drone pilots, so it’s better to stay out.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), you can fly your drone in Gatlinburg. However, you cannot fly your drone in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, which is located just five minutes from Gatlinburg.
Unfortunately, if you’re not a Qatari national, you will not be able to bring a drone with you into the country. You are also not permitted to fly a drone in Qatar if you are a foreigner.
Drones are permitted in Costa Rica, but you need an operational certificate from the Costa Rica Directorate General of Civil Aviation as well as a certificate through the Technical Council of Civil Aviation.
Drones are permitted in New Jersey as a whole, and since Jersey City has no laws prohibiting drone flights, you can fly there as well. You must always obey New Jersey state drone laws and federal laws when operating your UAV.
Niagara Falls is a designated no-fly zone if flying under 3,500 feet. You cannot get your drone into the state park without a permit. Trying to fly without a permit could be punishable with fines or even the confiscation of your drone.
Uptown Charlotte has no rules prohibiting drone flight as of this writing.
