The DJI Mini 2 SE is one of the cheapest DJI drones you can ever buy.
Its entry-level price is the gate for many people to become drone pilots. But what about charging your drone and remote controller?
Unfortunately, the DJI Mini 2 SE does not come with a wall charger, whether you want to purchase the standard drone version or the fly-more combo. You will have to look for one separately that is good enough to charge the drone safely in a moderate amount of time.
So, here we are, sharing all the details you need to know and recommending a few chargers that will do the job without spending your hard-earned money on the wrong one.
To help, we’ve identified and reviewed the best drone courses for beginners and professionals.
Does the DJI Mini 2 SE come with a charger?
Lately, DJI has taken the same approach as with many Apple products, such as iPhones, where no chargers are being delivered with the device.
This is to reduce the amount of electronic waste by avoiding owning more chargers than you need. It’s an environmental approach that appears more and more common with large companies.
But unfortunately, not everyone has good and fast chargers lying around. Although the DJI Mini 2 SE power requirements are not too high to have trouble finding effective wattage wall chargers, you still need a decent one to charge the drone in a timely manner.
You do get a USB-A to USB-C data cable with the drone. And yes, it seems tempting to plug it into your computer and charge it this way.
However, usually, USB-A computer ports deliver only about 500mAh of power, so if you use this approach, you’ll probably waste around 6-7 hours charging your Mini 2 SE battery, which is not the best strategy.
That’s why we have to look further than this.

What type of charger do you need for the DJI Mini 2 SE?
Both the DJI Mini 2 SE and the DJI RC-N1 controller that comes with it have USB-C ports as input. The fly-more combo also comes with a charging hub with the same port input.
This opens new possibilities, as the DJI Mini 2 SE, like the Mini 2 drone, supports QC and USB PD fast-charging protocols, allowing up to 29 watts of input power.
In some cases, to get the most benefit from the Mini 2 SE charging capabilities, wherever we’re looking to charge the battery in the drone, hub, or controller, we may have to look for an additional USB-C to USB-C charging cable, which DJI does not provide with the drone.
If you don’t have one, no worries. We’re here to help you.

Our top recommended chargers for DJI Mini 2 SE
Before we hop into recommending a few chargers fully compatible with this drone, we do recommend getting a USB-C to USB-C cable in case you don’t have one.
The data cable you received with the drone may fall behind quick charging capabilities, as it’s meant for data transfer.
Note: The wall chargers we recommend are meant for use in the United States with the 110-volt wall charging system. If you live in Europe or another country with 220v wall charging, the product should redirect you to a similar charger version designed for your wall, based on your location. But always double-check it to avoid ordering the wrong product.
USB-C to USB-C cable
Anker USB C Cable, USB C to USB C Cable (3ft,2Pack), (60W/3A) USB C Charger Cable Fast Charge for iPhone 15/15Pro/15Plus/15ProMax, Samsung Galaxy S23, iPad Pro 2021, iPad Air 4, MacBook Pro 2020
Picking this pack of two cables not only guarantees a quick charging of your drone battery, which should take around 90 minutes with a decent charger, but you’ll also have two cables in case you want to charge the controller at the same time via the same protocol, or any other device.
1. UGREEN 30W USB-C Charger
UGREEN 30W USB C Charger, Nexode Foldable GaN PPS Compact Fast Wall Charger Block, USB-C Power Adapter for iPhone 15 Pro Max/14/13, Galaxy S23 (Black)
A simple charger and the best of its kind for the price.
UGREEN is a world-leading company in manufacturing all types of chargers that are widely compatible with many devices, from phones, tablets, and drones to even USB-C laptops.
I own UGREEN chargers, and they have always been reliable over the years. Moreover, their overall price is low compared to the DJI official chargers and other ones you may find online.
30W is more than enough for your drone. In fact, it’s the sweet spot, as the battery will pull a maximum of 29 watts.
The only downside of this charger is that it has one USB-C output, so if you want to charge your controller simultaneously with the drone, you’ll have to wait, order two, or do it by other means.

2. Baseus 30W Dual Port USB C
1 USB-C Port and 1 USB-A Port.
A simple way to charge your DJI Mini 2 SE and controller simultaneously.
Taking a step further from the UGREEN 30W, we have the Baseus charger offering you the same amount of wattage. But with a little price increase, we have a dual USB output, one USB-C and one USB-A.
With this charger, you can, without a doubt, charge your DJI Mini 2 SE, whether directly or via the charging hub, and the controller at the same time.
The charger offers you more than enough wattage to complete the charging sequence in no time.

3. 6-Port USB-C fast charger 100W
USB C Fast Charger 100W GaN 6 Port Type USB C Charging Station Hub Block USB C Wall Charger Power Strip Adapter Plug Cube Brick 3 USB C 3 USB A for iPad iPhone 15 14 13 12 11 Pro Max Pixel Note Galaxy
One charger to rule them all.
If you get tired of having multiple chargers for your drones, phone, MacBook, and many other devices, why not take a step further and replace all of them with a single charging hub?
That would work flawlessly even when charging the Mini 2 SE battery, although it will only drain a small wattage compared to the charging power.
Note: Charging the Mini 2 SE and/or controller with this charger will not speed up the charging process. The drone will pull only the right amount of power it needs to charge the battery safely.
And with six ports, 3 of which are USB-C and 3 USB-A, you can’t go wrong.
Frankly, I am a bit jealous for not having this charger version in Europe to fit my country’s power system, or I would have bought it long ago. But based on the feedback and research, the charger will do exceptionally well with charging not only the DJI Mini 2 SE but almost any drone.
Remember that your Mini 2 SE battery is intelligent and has internal software protection that will stop more than 29 watts of power coming into it for safety reasons.

USB C 60W Super Fast Car Charger PD& QC3.0 with 5ft 30W Type C Coiled Cable, Car Phone Charger Adapter for iPhone 15 Pro Max Plus, Samsung Galaxy S23/S22/S21, Google Pixel/Moto/LG/Android, iPad Pr...
Best for charging your DJI Mini 2 SE on the go.
Maybe you’re looking further than a normal charger. I mean, on the go, wherever we’re driving or on-location with the drone, we can charge it for more flight sessions.
Why not?
This charger we recommend also comes with a coiled USB-C cable permanently attached that will output 30 watts, the exact wattage your DJI Mini 2 SE needs to charge at full speed.
Not to mention, you will need no additional cable.
The car charger supports up to 60 watts of output power, so if you also have a phone, tablet, and controller to charge on top of your drone, the charger will do just fine.
This is indeed the best approach if you travel with your car and with the drone, whether we’re talking about DJI Mini 2 SE, Mini 3 Pro, or any other drone that supports charging via the USB-C.

DJI Mini 2 SE battery charging level and errors
Unsurprisingly, the DJI Mini 2 SE, like all DJI drone batteries, is intelligent and safe to use and charge.
They also display a charging level, and if you get any individual LED blinking, it means there’s an error in charging the battery, in which case you can further look into it.
But before that, let’s have a look at the battery specs, shall we?
SPECS | DJI Mini 2 SE Battery |
---|---|
Rated Capacity | 2250 mAh |
Max Charging Wattage | 29 watts |
Charging Temperature | 41 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit or 5 to 40 degrees Celsius |

Furthermore, we have the charging levels of the DJI Mini 2 SE battery in this image. If you require more information, you can also find it in the DJI Mini 2 SE user manual.
Note: When the DJI Mini 2 SE battery hasn’t been used for a few days, it will slowly start to auto-discharge to a specific level for long-term storage.
As for errors, if one LED is blinking in particular, here’s what it means:
LED | Blinking | Meaning |
---|---|---|
LED 2 | Blinking twice per second | Overcurrent detected |
LED 2 | Blinking three times per second | Short circuit detected |
LED 3 | Blinking twice per second | Overcharge detected |

How to charge DJI Mini 2 SE and controller
To charge the DJI Mini 2 SE is straightforward and requires no prior adaption or setup to make it work. So, quickly covering these, here’s how we do it.
Charging the battery within the drone
The first and most simple way to charge your DJI Mini 2 SE, especially if you have the standard version, is with the battery plugged into your drone.
The drone has a USB-C input, the same one you can connect to a computer for firmware updates.
- Step 1: Connect the USB-C or USB-A to the wall charger.
- Step 2: Plug the other end of the USB-C cable into your DJI Mini 2 SE drone.
- Step 3: If charging, you should be able to observe the LEDs going in a sequential order.
- Step 4: After the battery is fully charged, disconnect the cable.
That means all is good, and the drone is charging. With a good wall charger that offers a minimum of 30 watts, the drone battery should be fully charged from empty to full in about 90 minutes.

Charging the batteries on the charging hub
If you have bought the fly-more combo, you should receive a total of three batteries and a charging hub.
The charging hub’s role is to charge multiple batteries at once instead of plugging each of them individually into the drone and charging it like this.
To charge the DJI Mini 2 SE batteries via the hub, do as follows:
- Step 1: Plug the USB-A or USB-C cable into the wall charger we recommend.
- Step 2: The other end, the USB-C, plug into the same input on the charging hub.
- Step 3: Remove the battery from the drone and place it, together with the other two batteries from the fly-more combo, into the charging hub.
- Step 4: If one (the first) battery starts blinking lights sequentially, it is charging as intended.
- Step 5: After all the batteries are fully charged, disconnect the cable.
Note: The batteries will not charge all at once. They will be charged individually, and when one is fully charged, the other one(s) should also start charging automatically. It needs no further action from you.

Charging the DJI RC-N1 controller
Charging the controller is another story. I mean, it’s as simple as it can get, but it will take much longer to charge, about 2-3 hours on average.
- Step 1: Connect the cable to the wall charger we recommend (either USB-A or USB-C).
- Step 2: Connect the other end, which should be USB-C, to the DJI RC-N1 controller.
- Step 3: If the LEDs start lighting sequentially, that means the controller is charging without any issues.
- Step 4: After the controller battery is fully charged, disconnect the cable.
