Best Cases for DJI Mini 2 SE

The DJI Mini 2 SE might be an entry-level drone, but you still don’t want to break yours, especially when it’s in transit.

That would be a waste of hundreds of dollars.

So, which are the best?

✅ Pros

  • It’s rugged and waterproof
  • Boasts an appealing gray and orange design
  • It has plenty of storage inside

❌ Cons

  • It could use a more ergonomic carrying handle

For under $40, the YETEETH case is a solid choice.

Built from an exterior of rubber and polypropylene, it’s rugged and durable enough that if you drop it a few times when out in the field, the case should hold up just fine.

It can handle 5,000 pounds of impact.

It’s large enough to transport the Mini 2 or Mini 2 SE, so whichever model you have is fine.

When you open the case, you’ll find a 14-centimeter long, 5.3-centimeter wide, and 6-centimeter deep compartment for your landing gear, a tablet holder, cables, or a spare propeller.

The largest compartment is 10.2 centimeters long by 8.7 centimeters wide and 2.5 centimeters deep.

It’s designed for carrying the Mini 2 SE’s remote controller, but you can also use it for landing gear, filters, cables, and a few propellers (depending on their size),

I love the additional space this case affords, as it also has several smaller compartments for storing memory cards and batteries so you have everything you need for a day of working or playing while you fly.

✅ Pros

  • It’s tougher than it looks!
  • You can get away with using it as a carry-on if traveling with your drone
  • The case zips opened or closed for convenience

❌ Cons

  • It’s a lot smaller than the other cases on this list
  • The zippered pouch doesn’t have much room for storing large items

Designed for several drones under the DJI umbrella, including the Mini 2 SE, this lightweight, inexpensive carrying case is a good one to add to your Amazon Wishlist.

The Qmint is a hard-shelled case with mesh, PU, and leather that promises scratch resistance and an anti-slip grip.

It’s not plastic, so you’re not getting the same degree of durability as you would with the case above, but this one is hardy enough.

Pack up your Mini 2 SE, controller, and a few spare batteries, then tuck everything into the molded compartments of this hard-shelled case.

The other side of the case is a zippered mesh area for hiding SD cards, cords, cables, and other small accessories.

I appreciate this one for its portability, and it also looks nicer than the YETEETH case, as it has a streamlined, stylish look.

✅ Pros

  • Durable and easy to carry
  • Waterproof and impact-resistant
  • It can hold most of what you need for daily drone use

❌ Cons

  • It’s small
  • Its compartments are not versatile; they’re designed for specific items, giving you less room to configure your gear your way

The Smatree case can carry the Mavic Mini 1, Mini 2, Mini 2 SE, Mini 3, Mini 3 Pro, and Mini 4 Pro, making it quite the versatile companion for your day-to-day drone adventures.

Resembling the YETEETH case but original in its own right, this hard case is waterproof and built from ABS plastic that promises abrasion and impact resistance.

EV molding inside is shock- and pressure-absorptive, meaning your accessories take less of a hit if your bag falls.

That said, it shouldn’t happen considering this case has an anti-slip grip.

So, let’s ask the million-dollar question – what can you fit inside?

This case can store a USB charger, two control sticks, four Intelligent Flight Batteries, one Charging Hub, a remote controller, two SD cards, and your Mini 2 SE.

✅ Pros

  • The case is even dustproof
  • It includes a handy shoulder strap for carrying
  • Lifetime service is available

❌ Cons

  • You can’t pack anything but the aforementioned accessories due to the molded interior

One look at the Tomat Mini 2 SE case, and you can see why it’s an Amazon’s Choice product and one of my favorites.

It shares many common features with the other hard cases on this list so far, such as waterproofing, a tough exterior, and a foam interior, but it’s shockproof and quite large!

You will have enough space to fit a spare prop, a remote controller, a battery, a cable, a charger, the battery manager, and the Mini 2 SE.

The case is 14.1 inches long by 9 inches wide by 5 inches tall.

It’s large to keep the items you require for your drone work but not so big that you can’t stash it in a daypack.

It should also be suitable as a carry-on in your luggage at most airlines, but check the requirements for yours before you plan to bring this case with you!

✅ Pros

  • A 12-month warranty is included
  • You can carry up to five batteries at once, which is quite generous!
  • It securely closes, so you don’t have to worry about your drone falling out

❌ Cons

  • It’s heavy at 2.4 pounds

Another Amazon’s Choice product, the Lekufee case is compatible with the Mini 2 SE and Mavic Mini 2.

This waterproof carrying case has double-latch clasps to secure it closed, which couldn’t be easier or faster.

Its plastic construction should hold up in everyday use, as the manufacturer promises impact- and abrasion resistance.

Inside is a foam insert designed for holding accessories like two microSD cards, two Mavic Mini control sticks, four props, a Charge Hub, three RC cables, the remote controller, five batteries, and the Mini 2 SE.

The case measures 10.8 inches long by 8.8 inches wide and 4.3 inches tall, so you can travel with it in your backpack. It’s scratch- and dust-proof for your peace of mind.

✅ Pros

  • It zippers open and closed, including the interior pouch, for ease of use
  • JSVER includes a control stick cover and silicone propeller protectors with your purchase
  • You also get a hand strap for carrying

❌ Cons

  • It’s not a hard-shelled case, so use it carefully

Travel with confidence when you have the JSVER carrying case in tow.

This hard-shelled case for the Mavic Mini 2 and Mini 2 SE is a third Amazon’s Choice product and one I personally appreciate.

It’s another smaller case, measuring 10.3 inches long by 7.1 inches wide and 2.76 inches tall when closed.

However, good things come in small packages, which you’ll realize once you use this bag.

It has the space to carry the Mini 2 SE when folded, the remote controller, two Intelligent Flight Batteries, four spare props, and a cable.

The EVA foam interior is molded to each accessory for a perfect, secure fit you can feel good about.

The EVA exterior shell promises resistance from dust, sunlight, shocks, impacts, and scratches.

In other words, go ahead and drop it or bang it up a bit. It’s okay, as this case can handle it.

There’s even an inner zipper compartment for holding small items like SD and microSD cards, short cables, and maybe a spare battery.

What to look for in a drone case: A buyer’s guide

You’ve seen my selections for the top Mini 2 SE case. Now, it’s time to select your ideal carrying case using these criteria.

Affordable price

The cases I looked at today are within the $50 range. That’s cheap when you consider the cost of some drone accessories.

I wouldn’t recommend buying a case for anything below $25, as the case probably isn’t well-made and won’t stand up well to impacts.

» MORE: DJI Air 3 vs. Mavic 2 Pro (Here’s My Choice)

Hard exterior

You might drop your case when you’re in a rush, or perhaps the baggage handler at the airline doesn’t use kid gloves when your luggage passes through checkout.

Either way, a tough exterior will protect the contents inside.

Soft-shelled cases are okay if not traveling by plane, but I recommend a hard-shelled case if you won’t exclusively handle the drone.

Space for what you need

Most drone cases are molded for parts and accessories like propellers, spare batteries, SD cards, remote controller, and cables.

The cases I reviewed today should all have space for what’s included in DJI’s Fly More Combo for the Mini 2 SE.

However, if you must travel with yet more accessories, you need a case with less airtight interior molding or an extra carrying pouch.

Good resistance

From impacts to sunlight and scratches, lots can damage your drone case. The more resistant it is to these outside forces, the longer it will last you.

The case will also do a better job of preserving the drone.

Easy to carry

No one wants to go through the hassle of having an extra tough-to-carry item when lugging around your drone.

The case should simplify your life, not make it harder! If it doesn’t feel good in your hand or has no easy way to carry it, keep looking.

Airline-friendly

The last facet is airline-friendliness. Ideally, your carrying case should meet the size and weight restrictions for carry-ons and checked luggage.

This way, you can bring the case with you on your flight without having to hand it over to an airline attendant.
